Making alarms ring reliably
Why does Risepal ask for AlarmKit permission on my iPhone?
On iOS 26 and later, Apple's AlarmKit lets an app's alarms behave like the built-in Clock app: they ring at full volume even when the phone is on silent or in a Focus, and show on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island. Risepal asks once, after explaining why. If you said no, open Settings → Apps → Risepal and allow Alarms, or run Settings → Alarm reliability check in Risepal.
My iPhone runs iOS 15 to 25. What should I know?
Before iOS 26, apps cannot use real system alarms. Risepal rings with time-sensitive notifications (repeated every 30 seconds for five minutes) and plays your full tone as soon as you open it. So:
- Keep notifications on for Risepal, with Sounds and Time Sensitive Notifications allowed.
- The silent switch mutes notification sounds: keep the ringer on at night, and the ringer volume up (Settings → Sounds & Haptics).
- In Focus modes (Sleep, Do Not Disturb), allow time-sensitive notifications from Risepal.
- Don't force-quit Risepal from the app switcher before bed.
Android: what do I need to allow?
- Alarms & reminders (exact alarms), so alarms ring on the minute.
- Full-screen notifications, so the ring screen opens over the lock screen.
- Notifications, and leave the Alarms channel's sound on.
- Battery optimisation: set Risepal to Unrestricted / Don't optimise. Some phones need extra
steps:
- Xiaomi / Redmi / POCO: Settings → Apps → Risepal → enable Autostart, and Battery saver → No restrictions.
- Oppo / Realme / OnePlus: Settings → Battery → Risepal → Allow background activity and Allow auto launch.
- Vivo / iQOO: Settings → Battery → Background power consumption → Risepal → Allow, and enable Autostart.
- Samsung: Settings → Battery → Background usage limits → make sure Risepal is not in Sleeping apps or Deep sleeping apps, and add it to Never auto sleeping apps.
Risepal's Settings → Alarm reliability check shows each of these with a button that takes you to the right screen.
How do missions work if I just press Stop?
On iPhone, AlarmKit always shows a Stop button. If you stop a mission alarm without finishing the mission, it rings again a minute later until the mission is done. On Android the ring screen only offers Snooze until you finish the mission.
Buddies
How do buddies work?
Open Buddies, tap Add a buddy and share your six-character code or link. When your friend opens it, you're paired. For any alarm you want them to hear about, switch on Tell my buddies. They'll see when you're up, when you've snoozed three times, or if you haven't checked in after your alarm, and they can send you a nudge or a voice note. You choose what they see under Settings → Buddies account → Privacy (times, snoozes, labels). You can mute a buddy's wake-up notifications or unpair at any time.
What are group alarms?
A squad alarm, like a 6:00 gym alarm from Monday to Saturday. It rings at that local time for every member, and the group sees who's up, everyone's streak and a weekly leaderboard: 10 points for getting up, 5 more within five minutes of the alarm, 3 for completing a mission, minus 1 per snooze.
What is parent mode?
Parent mode is for a parent and their child. The parent creates a parent-mode invite; the child accepts it on their own phone. The parent then sees when the child's shared alarms (say "School") are dismissed, snoozed or missed, with times, whatever the child's privacy switches say. The child sees that parent mode is on and can unpair.
A code says "expired" or "unknown".
Codes work for 7 days. Ask for a fresh one (Buddies → Add a buddy → Share code). Codes only use capital letters and the digits 2–9, so there is no O/0 or I/1 mix-up; typing them in lower case is fine.
Your account and data
How do I delete my buddies account?
In Risepal open Settings → Buddies account → Delete. Everything on our server is deleted straight away: your account, links, groups you're in, shared alarms, wake-up events, nudges, voice tones and recordings. Your alarms on the phone are not affected. See the privacy policy for details.
Does Risepal show ads or track me?
No. There are no ads, no analytics SDKs and no tracking. See the privacy policy.
